poetry?

yes, poetry. rachel and i have been working on learning this poem for about a month. i saw it in a book and thought it was adorable. she recited it for me last night completely from memory all by her little self.

halfway down
by a. a. milne (the guy that wrote winnie the pooh)

halfway down the stairs is a stair where i sit
there isn't any other stair quite like it
i'm not at the bottom
i'm not at the top
so this is the stair where i always stop

halfway up the stairs isn't up and isn't down
it isn't in the nursery
it isn't in the town
and all sorts of funny thoughts run round my head:
"it really isn't anywhere!
"it's somewhere else instead!"

Young children have amazed me for years with their ability to memorize long passages of scripture. So it is not surprise that your sweet, smart girl could do this for you. Precious!
