The Big 0-3

we decided to keep rachel's birthday really low key this year. we didn't plan a party. we didn't even buy her a present since we're at a stage in our life where we're getting rid of our things. we're taking a trip to the zoo this saturday to do something special for her and it turned out we went to the state fair on her birthday. what a fun day! i'll put up pictures from that later.

well, it turned out we did have a little birthday party for her that night when we got together with our friends, the sigmons. i thought it would be fun to bring over the dora birthday cupcakes and candles i bought thinking we'd just have fun with them at home. but it turned into a nice little party! the girls, gabrielle and grace, even made rachel little presents for her to open. rachel was so excited about the whole thing. she even sang along when we all chimed in with "happy birthday." please note in the pictures below rachel's chocolate hitler moustache. she was very proud to have chocolate on her face and didn't want me to wipe it off.
